All,
Another week has passed and the doctors still insist I’m doing great; the numbers are good, my stamina is beginning to return and I had the catheter removed on Tuesday. At the apartment, our routine is beginning to get monotonous. Up at 7AM, eat breakfast, I sleep until 10, take pills, then try to find something fun to do away from the apartment. Tuesday we drove over the Golden Gate Bridge and ate at Scoma’s in Sausalito (2 ½ stars). Yesterday we wandered around an upscale neighborhood checking out all the shops, and today we had lunch at Scoma’s on Fisherman’s Wharf (5 stars). As long as I feel good and have the stamina, we hope to continue exploring San Francisco. As you can see, the weather has been perfect.
Today is Beck's Birthday, so in her honor...
There once was a girl from P.A.
Who everyone agreed was OK
She took care of Rick
When he was so sick
'Not today" says she "It's my birthday"
And indeed she is taking the afternoon off visiting a woman she met as a result of my hospitalization. The two have become fast friends. Happy Birthday Beck, I love you.

Rick and Beck,
I am glad you are able to get out of the house. That is very good news. It sounds like you are making good progress. Happy birthday to Beck. I hope she enjoys her day.

Becky, Happy Birthday!!!! glad that you got some time with a friend!!! Exciting that you are exploring!! My parents both grew up in SF and there is so much to do and see! Have you been out to the beach through 'The Avenues' Beautiful to walk the beach or sit and watch the waves looking out to seal rocks. I don't know if the Cliff House is still there...used to be a series of incredible buildings that were baths of all temperatures. After they were use for this they turned one into a HUGE ice skating rink. First time I skated...little did I know that would lead to years on the ice. Let me know if you are interested in other places...but I imagine the internet has provided several. My dad as a boy walked across the Golden Gate Bridge the day it opened!!! Fun times in the midst of tough days. My thoughts continue with you all. Wonderful news about Tori and her husband. God Bless, Sharon
Rick and Becky,
So glad to hear Rick is doing so much better....God Blessings upon you as y'all discover wonderful San Francisco....its been over 30 years since Sawdust Festivals at Lewis and Clark....

Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday dear Becky,
from Sioux City Sue!
Okay, my favorite San Francisco eateries...
Perry's on Union Ave. (not the new one near Union Square...the original one) I like the eggs Blackstone...yum
Cafe Claude on Claude Alley...near Union Square...for creme brulee and lattes
Both Scomas (but you already did that...love the one in Sausalito because you get to go to Sausalito)
The Empress of China or something like that...in Chinatown...upstairs with view
The got rid of the Compass Rose at the St. Francis Hotel or that would be one...sigh
Oh, and that old original restaurant that's all wood inside and does great seafood and steaks and I can't remember it's name, but it will come to me...probably...maybe...well, it could happen
I love you guys!! Your happy makes me happy.
God bless you and much love,
Sue
